Hawkins Promoted to Associate State Director of Financial Management at PASBDC

Kutztown, PA (08/28/2019) — Pennsylvania Small Business Development Center (PASBDC) announced the promotion of Susan Hawkins as the associate state director of financial management. Previously, Hawkins was the Kutztown University SBDC assistant director of finance and special programs.

"I am pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Hawkins to lead the financial management and grant compliance of the Pennsylvania SBDC network," said PASBDC state director Ernie Post. "Her experience with the 17 centers comprising the PASBDC network will help ensure that taxpayer funds are utilized to maximize the return on investment to our taxpayers in the Commonwealth."

Hawkins brings with her 30 years of experience in finance management.

"I am very excited about the opportunity to work with the PASBDC network in this capacity," said Hawkins. "Everyone across the network and here at Kutztown University has been very helpful and supportive. I look forward to the challenges ahead."

"Susan will continue to be a great asset to the PASBDC network. While serving the Kutztown University SBDC, she has built relationships with the different offices at the 17 host institutions. This relationship is beneficial when keeping everyone involved in the grant management process and aware of budget and other financial concerns," said KUSBDC associate state director Sonya Smith. "The lead office strives to have dedicated staff to support all of the 17 service centers and Susan's actions continue to prove her dedication."

Hawkins will play an integral role with the PASBDC in their commitment to strengthening new businesses, growing existing businesses, and providing professional resources and educational opportunities. From 2011 to 2018, PASBDC supported 5,096 new businesses, grew 61,047 jobs and helped clients obtain $472,660,014 in new international trade sales.
