Kutztown University to Host Annual Entrepreneurial Leadership Week

Kutztown, PA (03/14/2018) — Kutztown University will host its annual Entrepreneurial Leadership Week Tuesday, March 27, through Thursday, March 29. The event is sponsored by KU's College of Business in collaboration with the university's Small Business Development Center (SBDC).

The event is a celebration of student innovators who want to change the world, bring a creative new idea to life or launch a new business. It is free and open to the public. Registration is required at the links below unless otherwise noted.

Think like an Entrepreneur

John Weidenhammer - Keynote Speaker

Think like an Entrepreneur with John Weidenhammer, president of Weidenhammer and Lehigh Valley Business Executive of the Year for 2017. Headquartered in Reading, Pa., his company identifies and integrates new technologies that help companies manage the complexities of digital transformations.

Entrepreneurial Student Marketplace

The Entrepreneurial Student Marketplace features student's small businesses or service project. This is an opportunity for them to showcase their businesses and sell their products.

Women's Panel and Networking Luncheon

The women from Berks County's Chamber of Commerce will be discussing how to drive toward entrepreneurial success. They will be focused on entrepreneurial success, strategies and tools. The panel will be moderated by Lori Donofrio, director, Northeast Berks Chamber of Commerce.

First Steps to Starting a Business

Facilitated by Dr. Ernie Post, executive director, Kutztown University's Small Business Development Center, attendees will learn how to build unique lifestyle requirements involved in owning a business, how to assess the feasibility of their business idea, learn the differences between business organization structures, how to develop a business plan and how to obtain financing and the necessary applications and licenses needed to start their company.
