Kutztown University's Brittany Larkin Awarded Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired Student of the Year Education Scholarship.

Kutztown University education major Brittany Larkin has been awarded the Pennsylvania - Delaware Chapter of the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (Penn-Del AER) Student of the Year Education Scholarship. Larkin is a junior from Cranberry Township, Butler County, Pa. She competed against graduate students and working professionals for the award.

This is the second year in a row that a Kutztown University student has won the award.

The Penn-Del AER Scholarship was designed to reward one outstanding university student with a merit scholarship. Applicants need to be AER members, enrolled in a full or part-time program, and majoring in the following certification areas: Low Vision Therapist, Orientation and Mobility Specialist, Rehabilitation Counseling, Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments, or Vision Rehabilitation Therapist, as well as live or work within Pennsylvania or Delaware.

The Penn-Del AER Education Scholarship was awarded during the Annual Banquet at the Penn-Del AER Conference held in Harrisburg, Pa., April 28.

Larkin worked for the Western School for the Blind while attending Seneca Valley High School, Butler County.
