Macy Skiles Selected to Perform in Philadelphia St. Patrick's Day Parade with Kutztown University Dance Team

Macy Skiles of Landisville, PA, has been selected to perform in the Philadelphia St. Patrick's Day Parade with the Kutztown University Dance Team.

The parade begins March 16 at noon at the intersection of JFK Blvd. and 16th St. The parade goes up the Benjamin Franklin Parkway to Kelly Dr.

The parade can be viewed on the CW Network (WPSG-TV) beginning at 1 p.m. Encore showings can be seen March 16 at 4 p.m. on the CW Network and March 17 at 9 a.m. on CBS 3, Philadelphia.

The first documented St. Patrick's Day Celebration Parade in Philadelphia was held in 1771, marking over 240 continuous years of celebrations. The current parade, which is hosted by the St. Patrick's Day Observance Association, was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1952.

Kutztown University Dance Team is a completely student-run organization. They perform for KU sporting events, charity and community events. In 2013 the team opened and closed the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade.
