Sullivan Repeats on CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

2016 May 26

Kutztown University women's track & field senior Emma Sullivan of Phoenixville, Pa. 19460 repeated from a year ago as a member of the 2016 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Women's Track & Field / Cross Country Team, announced on Thursday.

Sullivan now advances to the Capital One Academic All-America? Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected in June.

The Phoenixville native boasts a 3.91 GPA as a two-time Academic All-District selection. She was named to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Winter Top 10 in March, earned Dean's List honors in each of her eight semesters at KU, is a three-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete, and has twice been named to the All-Academic Team by the coaches association.

Just this year alone, Sullivan won her first career PSAC Championship and earned her first All-America honor at the NCAA Indoor Championships. She finished in seventh place at nationals with an eye-opening height of 12-10, breaking her own school record.

Sullivan also owns the outdoor record at 12-5.50 and wrapped up her career at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Bradenton, Fla. on Thursday. Despite not clearing a height, Sullivan hangs her hat on six career All-Region accolades and four All-PSAC performances. She finished fourth at this year's PSAC Outdoor Championships.

Earlier this month, Sullivan was named the LVAIAW Most Outstanding Athlete for women's field in the area. She was also voted this year's KU Female Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Sullivan graduated earlier this month with a degree in communication design.
