Dr. Paige Brookins Named Assistant Dean of College of Business

Kutztown, PA (12/21/2018) — Kutztown University has named Dr. Paige Brookins as assistant dean of the College of Business. Brookins has been with KU for more than 14 years, having previously served as director of the Act 101 Program, coordinator for Student Success, and area residence coordinator. She began her tenure as assistant dean on Oct. 29.

In her previous role as director of the Act 101 Program from 2016-2018, Brookins supervised all aspects of the Act 101 Program. She led efforts including recruitment of eligible students, coordination of programs and services for Act 101 students relevant to academic advisement, financial aid/literacy, student life and recruitment and matching of mentors and mentees among other duties.

"I am excited to work in the College of Business and to continue to keep students moving forward on their path to success," Brookins said.

Brookins currently serves as program director for the Youth Ending Substance Abuse Program at Community Alliance Reinvestment Endeavour, Inc., which she has done for the past 11 years. She has volunteered as a mentor for the Youth of Holy Trinity Church of God and the Youth within the Reading and Berks County Community for more than 20 years.

Brookins is also a published author, her academic paper titled "Mentoring Adolescents in the Urban Community: Leadership and Spirituality of Adult Mentors."

Prior to her time at KU, Brookins served as assistant resident director at the West Chester University Office of Residence Life and Housing Services, where she provided student development programs in the area of interpersonal skills, as well as student advisement through the Residence Hall Association. She also served as a judicial hearing officer and implemented effective sanctions and educational conditions.

Brookins holds a Bachelor of Science in business management and finance and a Master of Business Administration from West Chester University. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy in community leadership from Alvernia University.

One of four colleges at KU, the College of Business provides an exceptional education that prepares students for the rigors of the marketplace or the demands of graduate education. The college offers undergraduate programs in business administration and sport management as well as a master of business administration degree.

The college is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. It is home to the award-winning Kutztown University Small Business Development Center and the Latino Business Resource Center.
