Dr. Watson Named 2018 Teacher Educator of the Year by State Association

Kutztown, PA (11/05/2018) — Dr. Carol Watson, associate professor of elementary education at Kutztown University, was honored by the Pennsylvania Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (PAC-TE) Wednesday night, Oct. 31, as the 2018 "Teacher Educator of the Year" at their annual conference in Harrisburg.

In the 33-year history of the award, Watson is the first winner from Kutztown University.

Watson is in her 14th year at Kutztown.

In 2016, Watson was featured on the university's website as part of its "Difference Makers" series, recognizing KU faculty and staff members who made a true difference in the education, careers and lives of KU alumni through the years. Read her story here.

A graduate of Warren Area High School in Warren, Pa., Watson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Teaching from Westminster College. She went on to earn her master's degree in curriculum and instruction from West Virginia University and a Doctor of Philosophy from Virginia Tech.
