Jake Shimabukuro to Appear at Kutztown University Oct. 25
Kutztown, PA (10/18/2017) — Jake Shimabukuro will take the stage on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Schaeffer Auditorium on the Kutztown University campus. Noted for his solo ukelele arrangements of such varied pieces as Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody," Schubert's "Ave Maria" and Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," Jake Shimabukuro shares his unique talent as part of the KU Presents! season at Kutztown University's Schaeffer Auditorium. In 2005, Shimabukuro became an international phenomenon when a video of him performing the George Harrison song "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" went viral on YouTube.
Widespread acclaim brought high-visibility collaborations with a range of artists including Yo-Yo Ma, Jimmy Buffett, Cyndi Lauper, Ziggy Marley, Dave Koz, Michael McDonald and Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. Jake Shimabukuro has topped Billboard's World Music Chart on numerous occasions, and has sold out prestigious venues and festivals around the world. His most recent album, Nashville Sessions, is one of his most adventurous, multifaceted and engaging records to date, blending elements of jazz virtuosity with heartfelt melodicism.
