John Cunningham: Hypostyle Gallery Opening Sept. 19 at KU

Kutztown, PA (09/19/2019) — Kutztown University's Marlin and Regina Miller Gallery is ready to open the doors on artist in residence John Cunningham's exhibit, Hypostyle. The opening reception will be held 4-6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 19, in the Sharadin Art Building on the Kutztown University campus. Following the reception, Cunningham will host an artist's lecture at 6:30 p.m. in 120 Sharadin. The art installation is a site-specific gallery which will be open to view until Sunday, Nov. 10.

The exhibition is an investigation of the formal and spatial potential of the peripheral components of urban building assembly. Hypostyle is an exploration of form, scale, materiality and tectonic expectations. Kutztown students and volunteers helped to create the installation during Cunningham's residency.

The Miller Gallery is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, and 2-4 p.m., Sunday.
