Joshua Leiboff Named KU Employee of the Month for June 2019

Kutztown, PA (08/09/2019) — Congratulations to Joshua Leiboff, director of Web and Digital Media, on being named KU Employee of the Month for June 2019.

Leiboff's nomination from Arian Hungaski, clerk typist II, College of Business, reads:

"I was identified as the point person for the College of Business website upgrade. In addition, I am new to the university. Needless to say, I had several steep learning curves; and of course, the College of Business piece was just a tiny portion of what Josh Leiboff, Kelly Smith and the IT team had to create, design and execute over these past few months and years.

They all deserve to be Employee of the Month, but Josh became my go-to guy.

I called and emailed him multiple times almost every work day the past two months and he was unfailingly courteous and professional, even as the website migration deadline loomed. He provided detailed and thorough explanations and followed up within 24 hours to all of my inquiries. He went out of his way multiple times to find creative solutions to all of the new issues and concerns I brought to him, even creating a flipbook feature! Once he spent more than an hour patiently teaching me Abode Photoshop when I couldn't produce a properly-sized image on my own. All of this for just one small part of the whole. He took all of my questions seriously, even obvious ones, and ones he had already answered. Josh and the IT crew were tasked with an absolutely enormous undertaking and through it all, Josh was unfailingly polite, reassuring, patient and kind - not to mention producing a really great product in the new website!

Josh embodies Goals 3 and 4 of the KU strategic plan: Caring Campus Community and Stewardship of the University's Infrastructure."

Nominations are collected from students, faculty and staff, and the Employee of the Month is selected by the Human Resources Advisory Council. A winner will be selected each month, and out of the 12 monthly winners one will be selected as Employee of the Year. The Employee of the Month will receive a plaque, reserved parking and a $100 monetary gift sponsored by President Hawkinson.

For more information on the award or to nominate someone, please visit the KU human resources website.
