Kutztown University Department of Electronic Media Turns 40

Kutztown, PA (03/28/2017) — The Kutztown University Department of Electronic Media will celebrate its 40th anniversary on Saturday, April 8, from 1 - 5 p.m. in the Rickenbach Learning Center. The day will consist of activities celebrating four decades of education in electronic media.

1 p.m. "Best Of" Student Film Festival, Rickenbach Auditorium
View a selection of work produced by current EM students and stick around to talk to the filmmakers.

2:45 p.m. Facility Tours, Rickenbach Learning Center
Spend some time strolling through the facilities with a student tour guide. Stop at displays of equipment and photos from when the program started 40 years ago.

4 p.m. History Presentation, Rickenbach TV Studio
Join us for refreshments and a presentation on the department from its past to the present.

Founded in 1977 as the Telecommunications Department, the Department of Electronic Media has grown to be the largest program in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. The program helps students develop the technical and creative skills to tell stories and translate their vision to the screen. With an emphasis on cinema, television, and emerging media, the program promotes visual storytelling in a variety of media outlets that captivate audiences with effective and engaging content.
