Kutztown University has Coach Education Program Re-Accredited
One of only 29 accredited programs nationwide
Kutztown, PA (05/09/2019) — The United States Center for Coaching Excellence (USCCE) announced that Kutztown University successfully re-accredited its coaching education program under the USCCE's National Committee for Accreditation of Coaching Education (NCACE). KU's Coaching and Athletic Administration minor was re-accredited at Level 3.
KU originally accredited its coaching program in 2006 and is one of 12 higher education institutions to accredit a coaching education program within the United States. KU stands out as a leader in the United States in the preparation of coaches.
Through this accreditation process, NCACE ensures that both programs adhere to the characteristics of excellence as prescribed by SHAPE America's National Standards for Sport Coaches. These standards feature eight domains of coaching responsibilities and within them, 40 standards and subsequent benchmarks representing the body of knowledge associated with each coaching responsibility and provide concrete examples of actions and orientations that constitute coaching competence.
