Kutztown University Out of Darkness Community Walk Slated for April 30

Kutztown, PA (03/23/2017) — Kutztown University Clinical Services will host an Out of the Darkness Walk for Suicide Awareness and Prevention on Sunday, April 30, from 5 - 7 p.m. The walk, which is in its third year, will take place on the DMZ, located on the south side of campus between Old Main and the South Dining Hall. All proceeds benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).

With programs and events in all 50 states, walkers will be joining thousands of students across the country in raising money to bring mental health and suicide out of the darkness.

AFSP is the leading national not-for-profit organization exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education and advocacy, and to reaching out to people with mental disorders and those impacted by suicide.

Out of the Darkness Walk official t-shirts as well as many information tables on suicide prevention will be provided for walkers at the event.
