Kutztown University to Celebrate Unity Day August 31
Kutztown, PA (08/29/2017) — Kutztown University will celebrate Unity Day on Thursday, Aug. 31, at 11 a.m. on the lawn of the McFarland Student Union Building. Campus leaders including Dr. Kenneth S. Hawkinson, university president, and Dr. Warren Hilton, vice president for enrollment management and student affairs, will make comments celebrating KU's diversity and multicultural makeup.
The event will take place during the university's annual Community Link Fair, which brings together local businesses with the campus community.
KU's freshmen class represents a large increase in cultural diversity on the KU campus with 26 percent of the students being diverse. Kutztown had an 11 percent diversity rate among its student body as a whole in 2009 and is now at 21 percent in 2017.
