David Grow has been awarded a Chambliss Academic Achievement Gold Medal by Kutztown University.

Kutztown University has awarded the Criminal Justice Department's Academic Excellence and Community Service Award to Christopher Kalbfell and Erica Yurvati. The award is granted each year to two graduates of our program who have distinguished themselves academically, while making important contributions to the department, University and community.

Kutztown University Special Education senior Jessica Kolvites has been selected by the Division on Visual Impairments and Deafblindness to receive the Virginia M. Sowell Student of the Year Award. The award is given to a student who the organization feels demonstrates a commitment to the education and/or rehabilitation of individuals with visual impairments and deafblindness.

Kutztown University student David Grow has been awarded the Carole and Ray Neag Undergraduate Research Fund grant for his commitment to academic excellence and to research activities. He was chosen on the basis of his project proposal and the strength of his presentations to the KU Undergraduate Research Committee.

Kutztown University student Adam Cooper has been awarded the Carole and Ray Neag Undergraduate Research Fund grant for his commitment to academic excellence and to research activities.

Kutztown University student Jennifer Cruz has been awarded the Carole and Ray Neag Undergraduate Research Fund grant for her commitment to academic excellence and to research activities. Cruz, from Easton, Pa., was awarded $1,600 to fund her research project, "A Assay to Identify Tumor Suppressor Genes Turned Off in Cancer Cells."

Theresa Gassert '14 participated in the American Sociological Association's (ASA) Honors Program this August, at their 109th annual meeting in San Francisco. Gassert, who received her bachelor's degree in sociology from KU, presented research from her senior honors seminar at a roundtable session.

KU students, Kelly Morgano of Nazareth, Pa. and Kendra O'Donnell of Breinigsville, Pa. have been selected for a chance to partake in the annual PASSHE Women's Consortium 26th Annual Undergraduate Women's Leadership Institute.

Kutztown University senior Brittaney Eshbach, a history major with minors in mathematics and political science, was nominated to receive the 2014 Syed R. Ali-Zaidi Award for Academic Excellence. Each of the 14 Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) universities nominates one student to receive the award, which was established by Syed R. Ali-Zaidi, a founding member of the PASSHE Board of Governors.
