Comprising four colleges - Business, Education, Liberal Arts and Sciences and Visual and Performing Arts - Kutztown University of Pennsylvania offers a wide range of outstanding academic programs to prepare individuals for successful careers.

Located on 289 acres, the campus is adjacent to the Borough of Kutztown in Berks County, Pennsylvania.

Enrollment at the university includes 8,500 students from more than 20 states and nations. There are 362 tenured/tenure-track instructional faculty and boast a favorable 20:1 student-faculty ratio. Eighty-eight percent of KU faculty have doctorates or terminal degrees.

Kutztown University was founded in 1866 as Keystone Normal School.  The school became Kutztown State Teachers College in 1928, Kutztown State College in 1960 and achieved university status in 1983.

Kutztown University is a member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.

Kutztown University Announces Presidential Ambassadors for 2019-2020
Kutztown University and the Kutztown University Foundation have named 36 students as Presidential Ambassadors for the 2019-2020 school year. Founded in 1997, the Presidential Ambassadors is a Kutztown University student organization that works directly with the President's Office and the Kutztown University Foundation and Alumni Relations. The mission of the group is to support events that connect current students with alumni, faculty, staff and university friends, to act as ambassadors of the university and to create new traditions which enhance KU Pride. The Presidential Ambassadors' major fundraiser is the Tuition Sweepstakes. The winner of the sweepstakes is awarded one semester of in-state tuition to Kutztown University. Proceeds from the sweepstakes benefit ambassador programs and Kutztown University, including support of Dinner with Golden Bears, Grin and Bear It, Professional Headshots for KU Juniors and Senior, Love a Donor Week, Ladies Tea Scholarship, General Fund Scholarship, Play for Kay, Wounded Warrior 5k Race, campus and community wide events as well as many other events geared towards philanthropic efforts. The Kutztown University Department of Geography congratulates this year's recipients of department awards and scholarships: - Alton L. Justham Memorial Award for the senior geography major with the highest cumulative GPA; Samantha Butler. - C. Kutztown University Marching Unit Announces 2019 Roster
The Kutztown University Marching Unit (KUMU), an energetic part of the campus community, provides music, marching and entertainment for all KU Golden Bears football games, select away games, marching band festivals/competitions, professional sporting events, parades and campus spirit building activities. Under the direction of professor Daniel Neuenschwander, KUMU has announced its 2019 roster. Full roster with instruments and section can be found here.

Three Monroe County Students Leading Kutztown University Marching Unit
Twins Ian and Ilijah Denny, East Stroudsburg, Pa., and Kaitlyn Dougher, Saylorsburg, Pa., have been named drum majors of the 2017 Kutztown University Marching Unit. Ian Denny is a music major while twin brother Ilijah is also majoring in music and carries a social work minor. Dougher is a studio art, photography major with minors in art history, music and jazz studies. All three are seniors. Founded in 1934, the Kutztown University Marching Unit is comprised of 150 students under the direction of Professor Dan Neuenschwander. The marching unit is open to any KU student, regardless of their field of study.

Blichar Named to National Student Advisory Committee
Kutztown University student Nykolai Aleksandor Blichar has been selected to serve on the It's On Us Student Advisory Committee. Blichar, a political science major from Palmerton, Pa., is one of 28 students serving on the committee. Those selected are from colleges and universities across the country including Fordham University, the University of Pennsylvania, Duke University, the University of Connecticut and Williams College.

The Kutztown University Dance Team has been selected to participate in the 2014 Philadelphia St. Patrick's Day Parade on Sunday, March 16. The parade begins at noon at the intersection of JFK Blvd. and 16th St.

Kutztown University Marching Unit Selected for Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade
The Kutztown University Marching Unit (KUMU) has been selected as one of 17 bands to appear in the 2015 Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, Nov. 26, beginning at 8:30 a.m. With 150 members, KUMU is one of two bands from Pennsylvania and the only collegiate band in the parade. Now in its 96th year, the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade is the oldest Thanksgiving parade in the nation. The 1.4-mile parade route ends at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Kutztown University Dance Team to Perform at Philadelphia 76ers Game
The Kutztown University Dance Team will perform at the Philadelphia 76ers game versus the Sacramento Kings on March 12 at the Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia. The team's performance is scheduled to begin between 6:15-6:30 p.m. The Kutztown University Dance Team is a completely student-run organization. They perform for KU sporting events, charity and community events. In 2013 they opened and closed the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade.
